Supreme Court Verdict on Baldia Town Tragedy Vindicates Stance; Fire Caused by Owners’ Flawed Decisions, Not MQM: Mustafa Kamal

Karachi (HRNW): Senior Leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has welcomed the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s landmark verdict honorably acquitting MQM workers in the Baldia Town factory fire case, terms it a historical vindication of the party’s clean stance.

Divine Vindication Over Severe Allegations

Addressing the media regarding the apex court’s ruling, Syed Mustafa Kamal expressed profound relief over the judicial outcome.

“We do not claim to be angels, but the horrific tragedy at the Baldia Town factory was absolutely not our doing,” Kamal stated. “Alhamdulillah, Almighty Allah has vindicated us today in this heartbreaking tragedy, and the highest court of the land has validated the stance we have maintained since day one.”

Factory Fire Linked to Owner Negligence, Not Political Arson

Reiterating the party’s long-standing operational defense, Mustafa Kamal asserted that the inferno—which claimed the lives of over 250 factory workers—was the direct result of systemic structural failures and flawed administrative choices made by the enterprise owners rather than an act of political arson.

“I have categorically maintained from the very beginning that neither the nominated MQM workers nor the party’s organizational hierarchy had any involvement in this disaster,” the senior leader added, pointing towards the lack of emergency exits and safety protocols within the commercial facility.

An Inclusive Political Identity

Commenting on the socio-political fabric of MQM Pakistan, Mustafa Kamal highlighted that while the party historically and statistically represents the majority of the Urdu-speaking populace, its political landscape has widened. He emphasized that the MQM today features an inclusive structural representation, embracing members from diverse ethnic communities working collectively for the country’s socio-economic development.
