Karachi (HRNW): Defying all building regulations and residential layout approvals of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), another massive illegal construction project has been uncovered in Nazimabad No. 5, Karachi. The blatant execution of this unauthorized project has raised serious questions regarding the performance and integrity of the regulatory infrastructure.
Illegal 5th Floor Poses Structural and Civic Threats
According to local sources, an unlawful fifth floor is being constructed at Plot No. 5A 10/52, Nazimabad No. 5. The builders have completely bypassed structural stability assessments and mandatory No-Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Technical experts and area residents warn that such unauthorized vertical expansions place an unsustainable load on the building’s foundation and the locality’s aging civic infrastructure. This unchecked construction severely compromises public safety, burdens the strained sewage and water supply lines, and could result in a catastrophic structural failure at any time.
The Mysterious Inaction of SBCA Field Officers
Local residents have expressed intense resentment over the absolute inaction of the regulatory body. Whistleblowers note that the construction of an entire additional floor in broad daylight within a densely populated area like Nazimabad is impossible without the alleged collusion or willful blindness of the deployed SBCA field monitoring staff.
