Woman Accuses Bahria Police Checkpost Personnel of Abducting Husband and Seizing Valuables; Threatens Self-Immolation Over Injustice

RAWALPINDI (HRNW) – Hafsa Rani, a resident of DHA Phase 2, has accused officials from the Bahria Police Checkpost of allegedly abducting her husband, extorting hundreds of thousands of rupees, and seizing their vehicle before registering a falsified narcotics case.

According to the complainant, on May 20, 2026, Checkpost In-charge Abdul Muqaddam, Imtiaz Nasir, and other personnel detained her husband, Aurangzeb, from DHA Phase 2. She alleged that the officials extorted PKR 200,000 in cash on the spot and later took him to Bahria Phase 7, where they forcibly withdrew an additional PKR 250,000 from his account. Furthermore, she claimed that the police personnel confiscated their Kia Sportage vehicle, bearing registration number ASC-765.

Hafsa Rani stated that her husband was kept in illegal detention for three days before a fraudulent narcotics case was registered against him at the Saddar Barouni Police Station. The woman further alleged that a bribe of PKR 1.5 million was demanded for her husband’s release.

“If justice is not served, I will set myself on fire at Kachehri Chowk”

Speaking to the media in tears, the distraught woman shared that she has repeatedly visited the offices of the SSP Investigation, the RPO, and other relevant officers, but has failed to find justice anywhere.

Appealing directly to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Hafsa Rani said:

“I have two small children, and I am exhausted from being pushed around in courts and government offices. If I do not get justice within the next two to three days, I will douse myself in petrol and set myself on fire at Kachehri Chowk.”

Immediate Notice Demanded from High Authorities

The victim has demanded that the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Interior Minister, the IG Punjab, the RPO Rawalpindi, and the CPO Rawalpindi initiate an independent investigation into the incident. She urged them to take strict legal action against the accused officials, ensure justice for her husband, and recover the extorted money and seized vehicle.

It is worth noting that these allegations have been leveled solely by the complainant, and official confirmation or denial from the relevant police authorities is still awaited.
