New Mpox Case Reported in Malir, Karachi; Woman Tests Positive Following Husband’s Infection

KARACHI (HRNW): A new case of Mpox (monkeypox) has emerged in the Malir area of Karachi, as the 41-year-old wife of a previously infected patient tested positive for the virus.

Health Status of the Affected Family:

According to the Sindh Health Department, the husband, aged 42, has successfully recovered after receiving medical treatment and has returned home. However, as soon as symptoms appeared in his wife, she was immediately admitted to the hospital, where she is currently receiving necessary medical care.

Hospital sources confirmed that the couple’s children have not shown any symptoms of the virus so far. With this new case, the total number of Mpox infections in Karachi this year has risen to four.

Health Department on High Alert:

In response to the situation, the Sindh Health Department has issued a high-alert notice across the province. Authorities have directed health officials to tighten protective measures and monitoring to prevent further spread of the contagious disease.

The public is advised to remain cautious and report any relevant symptoms to health facilities immediately to ensure timely containment.
