KARACHI (HRNW)- The Provincial Anti-Corruption Court has formally indicted several former high-ranking officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in a high-profile case involving the embezzlement of funds, forgery, and misuse of authority.
Details of the Charges
According to Anti-Corruption authorities, the accused are allegedly involved in misappropriating over Rs. 800 million (80 crore) earmarked for various developmental projects. The investigation reveals that the officials issued fake tenders for development works and pocketed the funds.
Accused Officials
The individuals indicted by the court include:

Former Director General (DG) Technical Services, KMC.

Former Director Parks, DMC East.

Former Director Finance, Planning & Development, DMC Central.

Former Superintending Engineer, KMC, along with several other subordinates.
Court Proceedings
During the hearing, all the accused pleaded “not guilty” and denied the charges of corruption. Following their denial, the court summoned the Investigating Officer (IO) and prosecution witnesses to record their testimonies in the next phase of the trial.
The court has adjourned the hearing until May 19, 2026.
