CM Murad Ali Shah Inaugurates Modern ICU at The Kidney Centre and Pledges Increased Grants

KARACHI (HRNW): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at The Kidney Centre, established with the cooperation of the Sindh government, and announced a significant increase in the hospital’s annual grant from PKR 300 million to PKR 500 million starting next year. During the ceremony, attended by Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho and hospital leadership, the Chief Minister also committed to funding a new Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab to further enhance specialized medical facilities. Addressing the media, Murad Ali Shah touched upon various critical issues, including national security, stating that attempts to infiltrate from Afghanistan under the cover of darkness were effectively thwarted, sending a clear message that the entire nation remains united against any external aggression. Regarding political developments and recent remarks from the MQM, the Chief Minister asserted that the Sindh Assembly has taken a firm stance against unacceptable rhetoric and that he has conveyed the public’s reservations directly to the President and Prime Minister. He specifically clarified that while the role of the Governor is respected, he has shared concerns with the Prime Minister regarding activities at Governor House, though no formal discussion on a change of Governor has taken place yet. Furthermore, he condemned the recent police conduct in Umerkot involving the mistreatment of women, promising strict action against involved officials and emphasizing that such behavior is intolerable. The Chief Minister concluded by urging the media to exercise responsibility and avoid spreading “fake news” or unverified speculations, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, while reaffirming his government’s dedication to healthcare, labor rights, and ongoing mega-development projects in Karachi.
