MIRPURKHAS (HRNW): In a significant administrative crackdown, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Mirpurkhas Range has issued a notification suspending nine police officers and personnel from Umerkot district with immediate effect. The suspended officials include the Station House Officer (SHO) of Umerkot and the SHO of the Women and Children’s Police Station, among other personnel. According to the official notification, these officers will remain suspended pending a departmental inquiry and have been directed to report immediately to the Range Office in Mirpurkhas. While the specific nature of the allegations remains under investigation, the directive ensures that the suspended personnel will continue to receive salaries and allowances in accordance with service rules during the suspension period. This move follows a series of recent incidents in the region that have drawn public and governmental scrutiny regarding police conduct and administrative accountability.
