Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh cabinet has approved an agreement with the Teachers College Foundation (TCF) for the management of selected municipal schools in Malir, Chanisar and Lyari of the province.
According to the cabinet decision, free quality education, uniforms and educational materials will be provided in 21 municipal schools. The responsibility for the construction, repair and management of the schools will be on TCF, while the municipal corporations will provide land and buildings free of charge.
The agreement has been signed for 25 years and can be extended later by mutual consent. After the cabinet’s approval, the immediate construction, rehabilitation and activation of the schools will be possible. This approval was given on the recommendation of the Local Government Department.
In the same meeting, the Sindh cabinet also approved the closure of Sindh Land Management and Development Company Limited. The company was established under the Board of Revenue in 2010 and worked on land development planning, urban, residential, commercial and industrial plots. However, after the creation of Zulfiqarabad City as a development authority and the establishment of the Lyari Development Authority, the company’s role ended, after which it was decided to close it.
