U.S. Military Says Operation Against Iran Completed After Strait of Hormuz Incident

Washington (HRNW)- The United States military has announced that its retaliatory military operation against Iran has been completed. According to U.S. officials, the action was carried out following an incident involving a U.S. attack helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement posted on social media platform X that American forces targeted multiple military sites in Iran as part of what it described as a “defensive operation.”

According to CENTCOM, U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft used precision-guided weapons to strike Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radar facilities located near the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. military stated that the objective of the operation was to safeguard American personnel and interests in the region, adding that all designated targets were successfully engaged.

The operation comes amid renewed tensions between Washington and Tehran. In recent days, both sides have exchanged accusations and claims regarding attacks on military facilities, increasing concerns over regional stability in the Middle East.

U.S. officials did not provide information regarding potential casualties or the extent of the damage caused by the strikes. Iranian authorities had not issued an immediate official response at the time of reporting.

International observers warn that heightened military activity around the Strait of Hormuz could affect global energy markets and pose risks to regional peace and security.
