Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Turkey following the recent U.S. attacks in southern Iran.
According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, the discussions focused on the latest regional developments, the U.S. military actions, and the growing tensions across the Middle East.
During the calls, Abbas Araqchi briefed his Saudi and Turkish counterparts on Iran’s position and strongly condemned the U.S. attacks. He stated that the strikes constituted a violation of Iran’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.
The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that Iran has the full legal right to defend itself. He said the Iranian armed forces responded to the aggression to safeguard national security and national interests, adding that the response was carried out within the framework of Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional peace and stability, discussing the potential consequences of the current tensions and the importance of diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
Abbas Araqchi reiterated that Iran values peace and stability in the region but will not compromise on defending itself against any aggression or attack.
According to political observers, these high-level diplomatic contacts with Saudi Arabia and Turkey are an important part of ongoing regional consultations amid heightened tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
