Israeli Strike Reportedly Targets Major Petrochemical Complex in Iran’s Khuzestan Province

Mahshahr (HRNW) – Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, a major petrochemical facility in the Iranian city of Mahshahr has reportedly been targeted in an Israeli strike.

According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, a security official in Khuzestan Province confirmed that the Karun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr was struck during the attack. The official stated that parts of the facility sustained damage, while a detailed assessment of losses and any possible casualties is still underway.

Israeli authorities also acknowledged carrying out an operation in the area. In a brief statement, the Israeli military said that its air force had recently targeted several sites associated with the petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran, adding that further details regarding the operation would be released later.

Mahshahr is considered one of Iran’s key industrial and energy hubs, hosting several major petrochemical installations that play an important role in the country’s energy and manufacturing sectors.

The reported strike is being viewed as another significant development in the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel. Analysts warn that attacks on critical energy infrastructure could have broader implications for regional security and energy markets.

Iranian officials have not yet released a comprehensive report regarding the extent of the damage, potential casualties or any impact on production operations. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as assessments are carried out.
