Newark (HRNW) – A United Airlines flight traveling from the United States to Spain was forced to make an emergency return to Newark Airport after a passenger’s Bluetooth device was mistakenly labeled as “bomb,” causing panic onboard.
According to details, United Airlines flight UA236 had departed from Newark for Spain when, approximately two and a half hours into the journey over the Atlantic Ocean, concern arose in the cabin after the device label triggered alarm among passengers.
Following standard safety procedures, the aircraft was immediately diverted back to Newark as a precaution. The flight landed safely at Newark Airport around four and a half hours after its initial departure.
Airport security agencies carried out a thorough inspection of the aircraft. After completing all necessary safety checks, authorities confirmed that no hazardous materials were found, and the situation was declared safe.
Airline officials stated that the incident was handled strictly in accordance with security protocols and that normal operations were resumed after clearance was granted.
