Makkah: Saudi National Water Company Announces Success of Operational Plan for Hajj Season 2026

MAKKAH (HRNW) – The Saudi National Water Company has officially announced the complete success of its specialized operational plan for the Hajj season 2026. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), uninterrupted water supply operations were maintained across Makkah and the holy sites to facilitate the pilgrims since the commencement of the Hajj season on the 1st of Dhu al-Qadah.

The operational details regarding water distribution, quality monitoring, and essential supplies for the pilgrims include:

Record Water Supply and Round-the-Clock Service

  • Over 45 Million Cubic Meters Delivered: The Saudi National Water Company successfully pumped more than 45 million cubic meters of water across Makkah and the holy sites during the Hajj season.

  • 24-Hour Continuous Pumping: A seamless, 24-hour water supply framework remained fully active at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) and all sacred locations to accommodate the influx of pilgrims.

  • Zero Interruption in Operations: The company confirmed in its statement that the entire water supply infrastructure faced no operational disruptions or technical hitches, ensuring an adequate and steady volume of water throughout the season.

Quality Testing, Water Treatment, and Dietary Supplies

  • Rigorous Laboratory Testing: To guarantee the safety and hygiene of the drinking water, over 100,000 laboratory quality tests were performed during the Hajj season.

  • Massive Water Treatment: The utility corporation successfully managed the treatment of 31 million cubic meters of water.

  • Daily Dietary Distribution: Alongside water utilities, logistics at the holy sites ensured the daily provision of over 10 million loaves of bread and 33 million bottles of drinking water.

Integrated Management Framework and Outlook for Hajj 2027

  • Integrated Distribution System: The water distribution process was executed through an integrated system operating 24 hours a day to assist pilgrims in performing their rituals with ease and peace of mind.

  • Commencement of Hajj 2027 Preparations: Following the smooth execution of the 2026 framework, the Saudi National Water Company has already initiated its preliminary preparations for the upcoming Hajj season 2027 to maintain the continuity of premium services for future pilgrims.
