Pope Francis’ Vehicle Transformed into Mobile Clinic for Gaza Children

Bethlehem (HRNW) The late Pope Francis’ visit to Palestine included a gift from President Mahmoud Abbas—a vehicle that has now become a beacon of hope for Palestinian children.

Dubbed the “Vehicle of Hope,” the vehicle was unveiled in Bethlehem by the international Catholic charity Caritas as part of a humanitarian and unique project. Expert craftsmen have converted it into a fully equipped mobile pediatric clinic, capable of providing modern medical care to children injured in the war in Gaza.

Pope Leo IV paid tribute to Pope Francis, stating that the vehicle carries a message of healing, love, and compassion. In his special letter, he expressed hope that the mobile clinic will continue to serve children affected by conflicts worldwide, particularly in Gaza.

This initiative, approved during the lifetime of Pope Francis, entered formal completion stages after his passing. Israel has noted that no official request has yet been received for the vehicle to enter Gaza.

The vehicle, originally gifted in 2014, was handed over from the Franciscan Order to Caritas Internationalis. The mobile clinic will have a professional medical team to treat children, deliver vaccines, insulin, and emergency medicines in conflict-affected areas.

The public is encouraged to support humanitarian and medical assistance initiatives for children in conflict zones.
