London (HRNW)– Pakistani citizens have emerged at the top in asylum applications submitted to the UK.
According to a report by The Telegraph, a total of 40,000 asylum applications were submitted in 2024, with over 11,000 coming from Pakistanis. This figure is five times higher than in 2022, making Pakistan the country with the highest number of asylum applications among 175 nations.

All Pakistani applicants had entered the UK legally through visit, work, or student visas before applying for asylum. Britain’s Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philip called the situation a “complete failure” of the visa system, emphasizing the need for strict and urgent measures to prevent abuse of the visa and border system.
The public is encouraged to support initiatives that assist migrants and refugees in need.
