KARACHI (HRNW): Following the directives of SSP District South Mahzoor Ali, the South District Police have accelerated their campaign against organized begging, arresting 25 professional beggars in various operations across the city. The arrests were carried out by teams from Sahil, Darakhshan, Saddar, Clifton, Gizri, and Frere police stations. The suspects were reportedly found soliciting alms at traffic signals, major intersections, and other high-traffic public spaces, causing disruptions to the flow of traffic and public movement.
Formal cases have been registered against the apprehended individuals at their respective police stations. A spokesperson for the SSP District South stated that these operations will continue throughout the district to effectively curb the menace of organized beggary. Furthermore, the District South Police have issued a public appeal, urging citizens to discourage professional beggars. By refusing to provide alms to organized groups, the public can play a vital role in supporting law enforcement efforts to eliminate professional beggary from the city’s streets.
