Amoli Larijani Says Iran’s Actions Reflect New Strategic Defense Doctrine

Tehran (HRNW) – Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, has said that Iran’s recent military actions in support of Lebanon represent more than a military response and reflect what he described as a new phase in the country’s strategic defense policy.

According to Iranian media reports, Amoli Larijani stated that the purpose of the operations was to convey a clear message that any attack against a member of the so-called “resistance axis” would receive a response extending beyond traditional geographical boundaries.

He said that Iran views current regional tensions as interconnected and believes that actions against allied groups within the resistance alliance affect the entire network. According to him, threats directed at Iran’s key infrastructure, strategic facilities or national security would be met with a comprehensive, strong and deterrent response.

Amoli Larijani further stated that the scope of such responses could extend to parties that support actions perceived as hostile to Iran and its interests.

The senior Iranian official said Tehran has entered a new stage of defense planning in which, alongside responding to threats, it seeks to protect its interests through proactive measures and demonstrations of deterrent capability.

According to analysts, the remarks indicate that Iran increasingly views the security of allied groups in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq and other regional partners as closely linked to its own national security strategy. Observers warn that such positions could contribute to heightened tensions across the Middle East if regional confrontations continue to escalate.

The statement comes amid ongoing regional instability and growing international concern over the possibility of broader conflict involving multiple actors across the Middle East.
