Washington: US House of Representatives Approves Resolution Limiting President Donald Trump’s War Powers Regarding Iran

WASHINGTON (HRNW) – The United States House of Representatives has approved a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump’s war powers regarding Iran. The measure is designed to strengthen congressional oversight over any potential aggressive military actions by the administration against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The resolution was passed on Wednesday with a vote of 215 to 208. During the voting process, a few Republican members broke ranks to side with the Democrats, including Thomas Massie, Brian Fitzpatrick, Tom Barrett, and Warren Davidson.

According to US media, this legislative move is being viewed as a significant challenge to the President’s authority regarding any potential military action against Iran. Proponents of the resolution argue that congressional approval is indispensable for decisions as critical as war. Conversely, critics contend that this resolution could impact US foreign and defense policy.
