US Announces Inspection of Ships Bound for Iran Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Washington (HRNW)- The United States has announced the inspection of ships heading toward Iran, marking a significant step aimed at preventing the supply of weapons and sensitive materials.

According to a US Navy advisory, vessels bound for Iran may be searched to ensure they are not carrying weapons, ammunition, weapon systems, nuclear materials, or restricted commodities including crude or refined oil, iron, steel, and aluminum.

The advisory states that such inspections can be conducted anywhere, including in international waters, as part of efforts to enforce sanctions and maintain global security.

US officials say the move is intended to prevent the transfer of prohibited materials and strengthen enforcement measures against Iran.

Defense experts warn that this decision could further escalate regional tensions and may also have implications for global trade and maritime activities.
