DIG East Karachi Takes Notice of Shah Faisal Bridge Robbery; Orders Immediate Investigation and Enhanced Security

KARACHI (HRNW): Following the widespread circulation of viral videos showing a large gang of armed dacoits looting citizens on the Shah Faisal Colony bridge, DIG East Dr. Farrukh Ali Lanjhar has officially taken notice of the incident. The high-ranking official has issued stern directives to SSP Korangi and SSP Malir to initiate a thorough investigation and ensure the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the criminals involved. In response to the breakdown of law and order at this key transit point, Dr. Lanjhar has also ordered an immediate increase in security presence and intensified police patrolling across the bridge and its surrounding areas to prevent further criminal activity.

The action comes after harrowing reports from citizens who claimed that a gang of 12 to 15 dacoits, armed with Kalashnikovs and modern weaponry, had been setting up illegal roadblocks to intercept and rob dozens of commuters simultaneously. Victims reported that the suspects showed no hesitation in using extreme violence and severe torture against anyone who attempted to offer resistance. The viral footage, which caused significant public outcry and fear, highlighted the organized nature of the gang operating in the dead of night. While the police have now been tasked with identifying and arresting the perpetrators using the available video evidence, residents of the area continue to demand the establishment of a permanent security picket to reclaim the bridge from criminal elements and ensure the safety of the public.
