According to recent reports, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated due to a massive forest fire in southwestern France, where hundreds of firefighters are working to bring the flames under control.
Severe wildfires have also scorched thousands of acres in Spain, prompting the evacuation of several villages as rescue operations continue. Fires are also spreading across parts of Italy, including the island of Sicily, where residents have been moved to safer locations.
Experts say that extreme heat, prolonged dry weather, and strong winds are accelerating the spread of the fires. They warn that climate change is a major factor behind the increasing frequency and intensity of such devastating wildfires across Europe.
