New Delhi (HRNW)- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the establishment of fast-track courts to deal with exam paper leak cases, saying those involved in such crimes will face swift and strict punishment.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said that the future of the country’s youth is the government’s top priority and that anyone playing with the future of students would not be forgiven under any circumstances.
This is Prime Minister Modi’s first public statement on the paper leak controversy, following weeks of nationwide protests. Students have questioned why the Prime Minister remained silent for so long and why it took weeks for the government to respond.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, strongly criticized the Prime Minister’s remarks, accusing the government of weakening India’s education system.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, “You have caused the greatest damage to the future of the youth. You allowed the education system to be destroyed and protected those responsible.”
He added that protesting students have three key demands: the dismissal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a public apology from him, and legal action against those responsible for attacking student protesters.
The protests, led by the CJP, continue across India, demanding education reforms. The controversy has intensified following recent clashes between students and police, fueling a nationwide debate over accountability and examination integrity.
