British Airways Suspends Abu Dhabi Flights Until Year-End Amid Regional Instability

LONDON: (HRNW) Due to the escalating conflict and ongoing airspace instability in the Middle East, British Airways has announced the temporary suspension of its flight operations to several key destinations. In a significant update, the airline confirmed that all flights to and from Abu Dhabi have been cancelled for the remainder of 2026, signaling a long-term assessment of security risks in the region.

Additionally, the carrier has suspended its services to Dubai, Doha, Amman, Bahrain, and Tel Aviv until at least the end of March 2026. The airline stated that these decisions were made to prioritize passenger and crew safety as military tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States continue to disrupt global aviation corridors.

British Airways has concluded its daily rescue flights from Muscat, Oman, which had served as a primary evacuation point for stranded travelers over the past week. Impacted passengers are being offered full refunds or alternative travel arrangements where possible. The airline emphasized that it remains in constant contact with relevant authorities and will keep its flight schedule under continuous review, with plans to resume operations only when the regional security environment stabilizes.
