Karachi (HRNW)– The special anti-terrorism court acquitted 12 accused including Chairman of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement Afaq Ahmed in the container burning case.
Special Court No. 15 at the Karachi Central Jail Anti-Terrorism Complex announced the verdict in the case of burning a container in the Landhi area.
Chairman of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement Afaq Ahmed appeared at the hearing along with his lawyers Javed Chhatari, Farah Awan, Khurram Advocates.

The court acquitted 12 accused including Afaq Ahmed from the case due to lack of evidence. The accused include Afaq Ahmed, Muhammad Danish, Muhammad Yousuf alias Chandio, Muhammad Huzaifa, Khurram Akhtar, Sadan Ahmed, Irfan Ali, Abdul Hafeez, Adnan, Majid, Asad alias Bala and Raees Ahmed Qureshi. Three witnesses including the plaintiff in the case, Danish, refused to identify Afaq Ahmed and other accused in their testimony.
Javed Chhatari and Khurram Advocates had maintained that the case has been registered against Afaq Ahmed on political grounds. The evidence presented does not prove that the accused were present.
According to the police, a case was registered against Afaq Ahmed and others at Landhi police station.
