Karachi (HRNW)– Questions are emerging over whether action will be taken against Vice Chancellor Dr. Zabita Khan Shinwari following the dismissal of the Deputy Chair Senate of the Federal Urdu University by President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to HRNW News, the dismissed Deputy Chair was considered the biggest obstacle to action on complaints against the Vice Chancellor. With the removal, educational and administrative circles suggest that the appointment of a new Deputy Chair and the anticipated HEC investigation report will determine the Vice Chancellor’s future.

The Federal Ombudsman’s Court had recently held the Vice Chancellor responsible for harassment allegations and ordered the university’s decision-making body to reprimand him. Implementation was stalled due to the previous Deputy Chair. A neutral Deputy Chair is now expected to facilitate departmental action in line with the Ombudsman’s decision.
Sources indicate that the HEC investigation committee, headed by senior officer Raza Chohan, has included the harassment case, administrative and financial audits, and employee complaints against the Vice Chancellor in its review. The removal of the previous Deputy Chair has reignited speculation that action against Dr. Zabita Khan Shinwari could finally proceed.
