Karachi (HRNW): The Inter-Provincial Coordination Department of the Government of Sindh has formally initiated a transparent investigation into alleged financial mismanagement within the World Bank-funded Karachi Mobility Project (KMP). A formal inquiry notice has been issued, demanding the immediate provision of all procurement and expenditure records concerning the BRT Yellow Line’s JET, Depot-I, and Depot-II projects.
A thorough audit of the expenditures and contractual allocations for these transit projects is currently underway. As part of the accountability process, several current and former high-ranking officials, including the former Project Director, have been served official notices and summoned for questioning.
The concerned officers were strictly directed to appear before the designated Inquiry Officer today, June 8, along with all relevant documentary evidence and record files. The inquiry notice carries a stern warning that any failure to comply, absence on the scheduled date, or non-cooperation with the investigation will result in immediate ex-parte legal proceedings against the defaulting officials.
