KARACHI (HRNW) – The Sindh cabinet has approved a 15-day relaxation in the annual fishing ban.
According to the spokesperson for the Sindh Chief Minister, fishing will be allowed from June 1 to June 15, 2026, after the cabinet approved a summary submitted by the Livestock and Fisheries Department.
The cabinet was informed that fishing is banned every year during the breeding season of fish and shrimp, and the annual ban usually remains in effect from June 1 to July 31.
The cabinet decided that the seasonal fishing ban will continue overall to help protect aquatic life and marine resources.
Sindh Chief Minister said that the 15-day relaxation was granted in response to demands from the fishing community, adding that the move is aimed at providing economic relief to small-scale fishermen.
During the briefing, the cabinet was also informed that a complete ban on fishing will be re-imposed after June 15.
