Islamabad (HRNW)- In the context of the ongoing tense situation in the region, the threat of cyber attacks has increased significantly. The National Cert Emergency Response Team has issued a new advisory in this regard and directed sensitive and important institutions to take immediate security measures.
According to the advisory, government, defense and financial institutions can be the targets of potential cyber attacks, while there is also a risk of hacking official social media accounts. National Cert has warned that hostile elements may try to affect the system through deepfakes, spear phishing and DDoS attacks.
National Cert says that sensitive institutions should immediately update the security of their IT systems, avoid suspicious emails and links and enable additional security features on social media accounts.
The advisory further states that immediate reporting of any suspicious cyber activity should be ensured so that possible damage can be avoided through timely action. According to the National Center for Cyber Security, staying alert regarding cyber security has become extremely important in the current circumstances.
