Florida (HRNW)- A United Airlines plane narrowly escaped a major accident, with 200 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
According to details, a United Airlines passenger plane narrowly escaped a major accident while landing in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday afternoon.
Officials said that the plane encountered a mechanical failure during landing, which led to an emergency situation.
The incident occurred with United Airlines Flight 2323, which was traveling from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Orlando.
The plane landed on the runway with its rear wheels first during landing, according to local time, but a few moments later the nose wheel of the plane broke off and was seen rolling on the runway.
In viral videos on social media, the plane can be seen unbalanced and tilted on the ground, however, the pilot, demonstrating extraordinary skill and presence of mind, kept the plane under control and stopped safely, as a result of which hundreds of precious lives were saved.
Airport officials said that after the incident, the plane stopped on the runway, due to which air operations were affected for some time and other flights were delayed. Passengers were later safely transferred to the terminal by buses.
United Airlines has confirmed in its statement that there were 200 passengers and 6 crew members on board the plane, but fortunately no casualties or injuries were reported.
An investigation has been launched to find out the technical reasons for the incident and the plane was later removed from the runway.
