Pakistan’s External Borrowing Rises to Rs650 Billion in Four Months

Islamabad (HRNW) According to the Economic Affairs Division, the government borrowed Rs650 billion during the first four months of the current fiscal year (July to October), which is 35 percent more than the same period last year. On a monthly basis, Rs198 billion was borrowed in July, Rs192 billion in August, Rs124 billion in September and Rs133 billion in October.

External borrowings in October included $471.2 million, while $100 million was received from the Saudi Oil Facility. The government’s annual external financing target is over $19.92 billion.
