Nasirabad: Freewill Marriage Couple Holds Press Conference, Appeals for Government Protection

NASIRABAD (HRNW) – A young couple who recently married of their own free will has held an emergency press conference at the Nasirabad Press Club, making an urgent appeal to the Sindh government and high-ranking authorities for security.

Addressing media representatives during the press conference, the young girl, Sibgha, and her husband, Muhammad Ramadan, revealed that their contact began over the phone a year ago, which eventually matured into a formal relationship. The girl stated that her father intended to marry her off to an elderly man against her wishes. To escape this forced union, she felt compelled to leave her home with only essential clothing and undertook a two-day journey to Badin, where the couple legally solemnized their marriage in court.

Expressing severe apprehensions for their lives due to threats from their families, the newlyweds stated that they are facing constant danger. They have appealed to the Government of Sindh and law enforcement agencies to provide them with immediate protection.

This incident has once again sparked a critical debate regarding the extent to which mobile and social media contacts influence the life choices of young adolescents. Furthermore, the growing generational gap between the expectations of parents and the decisions of the younger generation has emerged as a significant question for society.
