Tragedy in Hyderabad: Three Children Electrocuted During Wedding Celebrations

HYDERABAD (HRNW): A joyous wedding celebration turned into a scene of mourning in the Phuleli area after three children tragically lost their lives due to electrocution.

Details of the Incident:

According to the police, the children had traveled to the area to attend a relative’s wedding. The incident occurred at night while the children were sleeping on the rooftop of the house. High-voltage power lines passing directly over the roof became the source of the fatal electric shock.

Victim Profiles:

Authorities confirmed that the deceased children were aged 10, 12, and 14 years. Heartbreakingly, two of the victims were biological brothers.

HESCO’s Initial Response:

A spokesperson for the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) confirmed that the accident took place within the Phuleli sub-division. The spokesperson noted that:

  • The power lines at the scene were intact and had not snapped.

  • Preliminary assessments suggest the children may have accidentally come into contact with or moved too close to the high-tension wires while on the roof.

Investigation and Community Grief:

The police have launched a formal investigation into the incident to determine if there was any negligence regarding safety distances or building codes. A wave of grief has swept through the locality as the community mourns the sudden and tragic loss of the young lives.
