Swabi (HRNW)- The spillways of Tarbela Dam have been opened, prompting the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to warn that water flow in the lower reaches of the Indus River is expected to increase significantly.
According to the NDMA, the public has been advised to avoid tourist and recreational activities near the Indus River and stay away from waterways during periods of high water flow to prevent accidents.
The authority has warned that high water levels are expected in the lower reaches of the Indus River, particularly in the districts of Layyah, Bhakkar, and Mianwali, and urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and follow official safety advisories.
