Lahore (HRNW)- The Punjab government has announced plans to establish the Maryam Nawaz Sports City in Lahore, with approval granted for a comprehensive feasibility study for the proposed project.
According to the plan, the 300-acre sports city will be developed to provide world-class sports facilities in Punjab through a modern, integrated, and internationally recognized sports complex.
The approved feasibility study will examine the project’s estimated cost, financial sustainability, environmental impact, and technical requirements to support informed decision-making before construction begins.
Officials will also conduct a detailed survey of the proposed site, reviewing land availability, accessibility, geographical conditions, infrastructure requirements, traffic impact, geotechnical factors, utility systems, and environmental and social considerations.
The project’s master plan will include sports facilities, road networks, parking areas, landscaping, utilities, and supporting public infrastructure.
According to the proposal, the Maryam Nawaz Sports City will feature a multi-purpose outdoor stadium, multi-sports indoor complex, Olympic-standard swimming arena, velodrome, squash arena, lawn tennis and paddle tennis courts, futsal courts, an archery complex, multi-purpose sports grounds, a sports institute, players’ hostel, administrative offices, commercial areas, restaurants, parking facilities, and landscaped public spaces.
