Trump Says He Has No Objection as Iran Suspends Ceasefire Talks with US

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has responded to Iran’s reported suspension of ceasefire-related talks with the United States, saying he has “no issue” with the decision.

According to the World News Agency, President Trump stated that Iran had not given prior notice regarding its decision to pause negotiations, but added that if Tehran wants to stop the talks, he has no objection.

In a brief telephone interview with NBC, Trump clarified that Iran’s suspension of talks does not mean the United States would immediately resort to military action or “start bombing everywhere.”

He further said he does not particularly care whether the negotiations continue or end, adding that the process has become lengthy and exhausting.

Meanwhile, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that its negotiating team has suspended indirect talks with the US through mediators, citing protest against Israeli military operations in Lebanon.

Iran has maintained that the ceasefire framework also covers broader regional fronts, including Lebanon, and claims it has been violated due to Israeli strikes.

According to Tasnim, Iranian negotiators will not resume talks with the US until military operations in Gaza and Lebanon stop and Israeli forces withdraw from Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that any violation of the ceasefire on one front would be considered a violation across all fronts, holding the US and Israel responsible for consequences.

The diplomatic tensions intensified after the Israeli prime minister ordered strikes on the Dahiya area in southern Beirut, a known Hezbollah stronghold. Israeli sources also indicated that the United States was consulted regarding the military plans.
