Saudi Air Defense Forces Shoot Down 20 Drones and 1 Ballistic Missile

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (HRNW) — The Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia announced that the Kingdom’s Air Defense Forces have intercepted and destroyed 20 drones and one ballistic missile targeting various locations across the country since yesterday evening.

According to Arab News, the Ministry of Defense stated on social media platform ‘X’ that this new wave of attacks began around 7 PM on Friday evening, approximately 10 hours after the previous attack reported at 9 AM the same day.

Of the 17 drones intercepted:

  • Most were destroyed in the Eastern Province,
  • Two drones were intercepted in Rub’ al Khali,
  • One drone was stopped in the northern province of Al-Jawf.

The ballistic missile was targeting Prince Sultan Air Base, located about 80 kilometers southeast of the capital Riyadh, and was successfully destroyed in mid-air.
