Pakistan Condemns Attack on Kuwaiti Consulate in Basra, Demands Transparent Probe

Islamabad (HRNW)- Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the incident of targeting the office of the Kuwaiti Consul General in Basra, Iraq.

According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office of Pakistan, the vandalism of the office of the Kuwaiti Consul General and the violation of the sanctity of the consular building is a serious matter, which is contrary to diplomatic norms and international laws.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan emphasizes on guaranteeing the security and sanctity of diplomatic and consular missions at all costs, as this is a basic requirement of international obligations. Pakistan opposes all such actions that are in violation of diplomatic norms and international laws.

According to the Foreign Office, the incident should be thoroughly and transparently investigated and the responsible elements should be brought to justice so that such incidents can be prevented in the future.

The statement said that Pakistan expresses its complete solidarity with the Kuwaiti government and people and reiterates its principled position regarding respect, security of diplomatic missions and adherence to international obligations.
