KARACHI (HRNW): A violent shooting incident near Benazir Park in the Clifton area has left a young man dead and his wife seriously injured. The victims have been identified as 27-year-old Arshad and his wife, Shazia.
According to preliminary reports, the couple was targeted by an armed assailant. Shazia, who sustained bullet wounds, provided an initial statement to the police identifying the shooter as Muzammil, a resident of Shireen Jinnah Colony. She alleged that the attack was the result of a long-standing personal dispute.
Chhipa ambulance volunteers rushed both victims to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Doctors confirmed that Arshad succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, while Shazia remains under medical treatment for her wounds.
The Boat Basin police have arrived at the scene and initiated a forensic investigation. Authorities are currently conducting raids in Shireen Jinnah Colony to apprehend the suspect, Muzammil, who remains at large.
