Islamabad (HRNW)- An important case regarding the hearing of appeals following amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court tomorrow.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, with Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Shahid Bilal as members, will hear the case.
The federal government has requested that all pending NAB appeals and related bail cases be transferred to the Constitutional Court. In its response, the government argued that the amendments made to the NAB law should also apply to cases that are currently pending.
It is noteworthy that Parliament amended the NAB law in March, granting the Constitutional Court the authority to hear NAB appeals after decisions by the High Courts.
The three-member bench will determine whether these legal amendments are applicable to pending cases or only to new appeals filed after the amendments came into effect.
