KARACHI (HRNW)- Member of the Sindh Assembly from MQM-Pakistan, Arsalan Pervez, has formally written a letter to Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, demanding immediate intervention against the rising tide of encroachments in Scheme 33. The MPA emphasized that a grand operation by the Anti-Encroachment Cell is now inevitable to clear the illegally occupied spaces that have paralyzed the civic infrastructure of the area. He noted that only an effective and consistent crackdown by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) can restore the roads and public pathways to their original state.
The letter highlights that the proliferation of illegal structures and stalls along main arteries and within residential streets has made severe traffic congestion a daily routine for the inhabitants of Scheme 33. Beyond the main highways, illegal platforms and extensions have also been constructed in narrow lanes, severely restricting the movement of pedestrians and residents. Arsalan Pervez urged the Mayor to mobilize the necessary administrative resources to clear these bottlenecks, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and providing much-needed relief to the local community.
