KARACHI (HRNW)- A massive disruption in air travel has been reported as 70 flights scheduled for Gulf countries and other international destinations were cancelled across Pakistan’s major airports. According to airport sources, the cancellations include 27 flights from Karachi, 23 from Islamabad, and 10 from Peshawar. Furthermore, 12 flights from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore—destined for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait, Doha, Dammam, Jeddah, and Fujairah—have also been called off.
Airport authorities indicated that local and international airlines took the decision to cancel operations following recent strikes on Iran and Saudi Arabia, coupled with threats issued by U.S. President Donald Trump. The heightened regional tensions and security concerns have led to significant uncertainty in the aviation sector, leaving thousands of passengers stranded. Airlines are currently monitoring the situation closely to determine when it will be safe to resume scheduled operations across these critical regional corridors.
