Sindh Education Department Issues Notice To Private Schools; Prohibits Forced Purchase Of Uniforms And Books

KARACHI (HRNW)- The Sindh Education Department has issued a formal notice to private educational institutions across the province, strictly directing them not to compel students or parents to purchase uniforms, textbooks, and other stationery items directly from the school. The directive aims to curb exploitative practices and provide financial relief to parents who often face immense pressure to buy essential school supplies at inflated prices from specific vendors or school-managed outlets.

According to the notification, any institution found forcing students to acquire these items from within the school premises or designated shops will face stern disciplinary and legal action. The education authorities emphasized that parents should have the freedom to purchase educational materials from the open market at competitive rates. This move is part of a broader effort by the provincial government to ensure transparency and prevent commercialization within the private education sector, safeguarding the rights of students and their families.
