Lahore: NCCIA Launches Massive Punjab-Wide Crackdown Against Anti-State Propaganda; 11 Apprehended Across Multiple Districts

LAHORE (HRNW) – The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab has initiated a sweeping crackdown targeting elements involved in spreading anti-state propaganda, running online campaigns against state institutions, and inciting public unrest. During successful intelligence-led raids conducted across various cities in Punjab, the agency apprehended 11 suspects.

According to the NCCIA spokesperson, separate cases have been formally registered against all the arrested individuals, and a comprehensive investigation has been launched.

Directive of Director Punjab and Systematic Monitoring

  • Special Enforcement Orders: The coordinated raids were executed under the direct instructions of the Director of NCCIA Punjab, Muhammad Ali Waseem.

  • Digital Surveillance: Agency officials stated that elements utilizing social media and various online platforms to propagate provocative content and target state institutions had been under intense surveillance for an extended period, culminating in these targeted raids.

Regional Breakdown of Arrests

The NCCIA spokesperson provided the localized details of the arrests made during the operation:

  • Lahore: Three suspects were taken into custody from the provincial capital, including individuals identified as Ghaus Siddique and Azhar.

  • Faisalabad: During a targeted raid in the industrial city of Faisalabad, three suspects—identified as Zeeshan, Zahoor, and Tariq—were arrested.

  • Multan: The highest number of arrests came from Multan, where four suspects—Asif, Farhan, Sohail, and Zubair—were apprehended.

  • Gujranwala: One suspect, identified as Ejaz, was taken into custody from Gujranwala on charges of orchestrating anti-state propaganda and inciting public discord.

Seizure of Digital Evidence and Network Tracing

The spokesperson further confirmed that law enforcement personnel have seized mobile phones, laptops, digital evidence, and social media data profiles from the possession of the suspects. The recovered digital assets have been forwarded for forensic analysis to gather further information regarding potential domestic or foreign networks and to trace other absconding accomplices.
