Anti-Terrorism Court To Hear Transfer Plea Of Accused Armaghan In Mustafa Amir Murder Case

KARACHI (HRNW)- An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in the Judicial Complex has adjourned the hearing of a case involving police encounter and attempted murder charges against Armaghan, the primary accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case. During the proceedings, Armaghan filed a formal application expressing a lack of confidence in the current court, ATC No. 7, and requested the transfer of his cases to another court. The plea urged the administrative judge of the Anti-Terrorism Courts to move the proceedings to a different bench. Consequently, the court adjourned the hearing until April 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, the police submitted an information report regarding the tragic death of injured DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar. According to the police, a raid was conducted at Armaghan’s residence on February 8, 2025, to apprehend him. During the operation, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police party, resulting in critical injuries to DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar. The officer later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment and has been martyred.

Following the martyrdom of the senior officer, the police requested the court to add murder charges to the existing case against Armaghan. The prosecution has moved to amend the indictment to include clauses related to murder, seeking a revised trial under the enhanced charges. The court will now take up the transfer request and the prosecution’s application for the amendment of the indictment in the upcoming hearing.
