Tehran (HRNW): Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei has pledged to seek justice and retaliation for the killing of his father, stating that the demand for revenge reflects the will of the Iranian nation.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Mojtaba Khamenei thanked the millions of people who participated in what he described as the historic funeral of his father, Ali Khamenei. The statement marked his first public message following the funeral.
Khamenei declared that those responsible for the deaths of his father and individuals killed in what he referred to as the country’s recent wars would be held accountable. He asserted that those he described as the perpetrators would face consequences and that, in his view, justice would eventually be served.
He further claimed that Iranian authorities possess a list of individuals allegedly responsible for the killings and warned that they would not escape accountability. According to his statement, the pursuit of those he blamed would continue regardless of how long the process takes.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions, with observers warning that retaliatory rhetoric from all sides could further increase instability in the Middle East. International analysts continue to emphasize the importance of restraint, dialogue, and adherence to international law to prevent further escalation.
