Karachi (HRNW)- A major misuse of public funds has been uncovered in the Darul Sukoon and Public School projects.
The Director of the Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh has taken notice following a report by Dawn News and has ordered an investigation into both projects. Authorities have classified this case as a white-collar crime.
Preliminary findings indicate that the administration caused losses of over Rs 2 billion, exceeding the original allocation of Rs 590 million. Corrupt officials also falsely inflated expenses by crores of rupees in official documents.
The issue was also reported by Neo News, and the Auditor General of Pakistan had previously flagged the scandal. Shockingly, despite the audit report, the Finance Department continued to release funds for the projects.
