Morata De Tojana (HRNW)- Dilawar Hussain, a 44-year-old Pakistani national, has been sentenced to 36 years in prison for the murder of his landlord and her family in December 2023. The victims, two elderly sisters and their disabled brother, fell prey to an online love scam, which led to debts involving Hussain.
After previously injuring one of the sisters in February 2023, Hussain ultimately killed all three with an iron rod and attempted to burn the bodies before surrendering to police. The court cited the defendant’s mental state as a factor in the leniency of the sentence. Hussain has filed an appeal.
