Rawalpindi: Adiala Jail Superintendent Served Show-Cause Notice for Contempt of Court

Rawalpindi (HRNW): The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has issued a show-cause notice to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for contempt of court. The notice comes after the jail administration failed to submit a report as ordered by the court, explaining why former Prime Minister Imran Khan was not given access to his personal physicians and why arrangements for his video-link appearance in court were not properly implemented.

The court highlighted that the jail administration only submitted a written report, which violated court orders. The Superintendent has now been asked to appear in court and provide a detailed explanation of the actions taken.

The notice follows a petition filed by PTI’s legal team, demanding that the jail authorities ensure Imran Khan’s access to his personal doctors and submit full details of the medical treatment provided in jail to the court.

This development comes amid rising political and legal tensions over Imran Khan’s health and medical facilities in jail, with the court emphasizing the need for transparency and strict compliance with judicial orders.
