Coordination Meeting at Town Municipal Office Hyderabad: Strengthening NGO Services and Inter-Departmental Synergy

HYDERABAD (HRNW)-To enhance the quality of social services provided by NGOs and strengthen coordination between relevant departments for better urban service delivery, a high-level coordination meeting was chaired by Town Municipal Chairman Mian Sarfaraz at his office in City Hyderabad.

The meeting was attended by Town Chairman Bilal Mustafa Sheikh, the Municipal Commissioner, Assistant Director (Latifabad) Madam Shaza Fatima, Deputy Director Social Welfare (HQ), Assistant Director (City) Dr. Madam Syeda Quratulain, Zulfiqar Ali Umrani, Haji Muhammad Yasin Arain (Bhai Khan Welfare), Tehzeeb Akhtar (Salawat Jamaat), Malik Muhammad Aslam (Tanzeem Khadim-e-Insaniyat), and representatives from various active NGOs.

Key Highlights and Strategic Decisions:

Integrated Planning: Chairman Bilal Mustafa Sheikh emphasized the urgent need for effective planning in welfare work focused on the protection of women, senior citizens, and children. He stressed that providing basic amenities at the city level is a collective priority.
Child Protection & Counseling: The Chairman highlighted that the counseling, care, and education of children involved in beggary is a shared responsibility. He proposed the formation of a Coordination Committee consisting of Social Welfare Department officials, NGO representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve issues in real-time.
Rehabilitation Centers: Madam Shaza Fatima announced that a Rehabilitation Center will soon be established in Hyderabad to provide education and vocational training to children rescued from beggary, aiming to integrate them as productive citizens.
Crusade Against Beggary Mafia: Dr. Madam Syeda Quratulain described children as the nation’s greatest asset. She called for a “Jihad” (crusade) against the mafias that force children into begging and urged stakeholders to strengthen coordination to address public grievances effectively.
Gender-Based Violence & Welfare: Haji Muhammad Yasin Arain and other NGO leaders presented various proposals regarding the prevention of sexual violence against women and improving child protection protocols.
