Faisalabad (HRNW) — In a remarkable display of honesty and integrity, a sanitation worker from Faisalabad, Nusrat Bibi, has become a symbol of pride for her entire city — and indeed for all of Pakistan.
While cleaning the streets of Nagar Ban Pura, Nusrat Bibi discovered a packet hidden in a pile of garbage. When she opened it, she was shocked to find bundles of cash — a total of PKR 900,000.
But here’s what makes her story shine —
not for a single moment did her heart waver. Without hesitation, Nusrat Bibi informed her supervisor and handed over the packet to the waste management company’s office.
Soon, the rightful owner was found — a local resident who revealed that the cash had accidentally been thrown away during house cleaning.
Her honesty astonished everyone. In recognition of her integrity, a special ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Faisalabad, where:
- The owner of the money rewarded her with PKR 100,000,
- The waste management company gave her PKR 100,000,
- And the Deputy Commissioner awarded another PKR 100,000 — along with a job for her son.
With tears in her eyes but a proud smile on her face, Nusrat Bibi said:
“My faith and my hard work are my real wealth. Allah has blessed me with respect — that’s the greatest reward.”
